Property in popular French resort Courchevel, part of the world’s largest ski area – Les 3 Vallées, will only get even more desirable over the next few years as work on new facilities and attractions gets under way.
One of the most hotly anticipated projects in Courchevel, which encompasses four villages at different altitudes, is the €50million Aquatic Centre at Courchevel 1550, the first stone of which was laid in October. The centre is due to be open by the start of 2015 and will include swimming pools, a surf wave machine, water slides, a beauty and wellness centre and restaurant.
Meanwhile, at Courchevel 1300, known as Le Praz, a new gym is under construction and due to open in spring 2013.
Improvements to Courchevel’s ski lift system worth millions of euros are also being made, including an upgrade of the most used lift in the Courchevel Valley, the Biollay accessed from Courchevel 1850, which this season has seen its capacity increase from 2,500 skiers an hour to 3,300.
At Courchevel 1650, work on two new gondolas is due to commence next summer, making access to the slopes at 1850 much easier for the increasing number of home owners in this part of the resort.
