The success of an earlier leaseback development in the family friendly ski resort of Le Chinaillon has prompted the developer to announce plans for a similar project within the same village.
MGM French Properties built 180 apartments in 12 traditionally styled chalets, and now plans to build a further 120 apartments in another mountain side residence. It’s expected construction work on the south facing apartments will start later this year, and the first homes which will overlook the ski slopes, will be ready for occupation before the end of next year.
There will be a bar and restaurant within the new development, while additional facilities include a fitness room, and a sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room. Leaseback options give a guaranteed gross annual rental income of around €5,500, as well as giving owners several weeks of personal use, with the dates arranged to meet the clients preferences.
Le Chinaillon is just 5 minutes by car or bus from nearby market town Le Grand Bornand, while Geneva airport is less than an hour’s drive. The resort is renowned for being one of the most family oriented in the region, and is popular all the year round. During the winter it has excellent skiing and snowboarding facilities, while in the summer there are plenty of opportunities for walking and golf, as well as watersports and sailing at nearby Lake Annecy.
Ongoing talks between mountain villages in the area could see Chinaillon’s ski runs linked with those of Saint Jean de Sixt and La Clusaz, giving a total ski area of 220 km.
