About Megeve

Megeve is a town and ski area of the French Alps in the heart of the Haute-Savoie department in France. The nearest town is Champéry, with which Megeve forms an intercommunal entity. Both towns belong to the Vallée de la Tarentaise, a mountain valley shared between the cantons of Valais, Haute-Savoie and Chablais. With its 1’373 m (4,512 ft) high summit, Megeve is one of the highest European ski resorts.

What’s the Snowboarding Terrain in Megeve Like?

Featuring a wide variety of trails, Megeve is one of the best destinations in the French Alps for snowboarding. The region offers endless slopes to be explored, high alpine passes and tree runs.

Off-piste snowboarding is easy at the Megeve Slope Park. There is a huge amount of green runs down the mountain, as well as red and black runs for those more confident on their board. The snowpark in Megeve is fantastic and there are plenty of off-piste opportunities to enjoy in the woods or on the Glacier. If you like night-time activities, tubing down the mountain is popular here.

Is Megeve Family Friendly?

Megeve Resort is perfect for families seeking a great holiday experience. The ski area has excellent nursery slopes and has been welcoming family skiers since the 1960s.

There are also a variety of amusement parks throughout the resort which are suitable for children, including Tyrel, La Bonbonnière, and La Ferme de Badoux.

Transport to Megeve

Megeve sits in the Haute Savoie region of eastern France, 50 miles north of Geneva. With two international airports nearby (Geneva-Cointrin and Chambery-Savoie), Megeve is also the perfect gateway to discover nearby Chamonix and many other Alpine jewels.

The village is accessible by car, bus, train or plane.
